Julie assists individuals, couples and families in in their quest to create fulfilling relationships and to add joy to their lives. As a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients, Julie's areas of expertise include stress and anxiety, grief and depression, traumatic life events, women's issues, life transitions, and relational difficulties. Julie also assists couples in creating a mutually fulfilling relationship by learning new ways to talk and listen, discover each others uniqueness, and uncover opportunities for personal growth.

Providing support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges, Julie's therapeutic approach draws from a variety of approaches to personalize and tailor the therapy process for each client's individual needs. With compassion and understanding, Julie work's with each individual helping them to recognize and build on their strengths to attain personal growth and find resolution to the difficulties they face.

Julie maintains her licensure through the NCSW Certification and Licensure Board. She is committed to staying abreast of new techniques and remaining actively involved in continuing her education. Julie has taken courses in psychoanalytic studies through Duke University and recently completed a week long educational conference in Orlando, FL geared toward enhancing a couple's relationship.

Julie's mental health background has been informed not only through academics, but also through her own life experiences. She has been in the mental health field for more than a decade. Receiving her bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University, Julie was a past President of the NASW-NC student association and Vice President of the Phi Alpha Honor Society. Julie returned to school and earned her Masters degree with highest honors from East Carolina University in 2003 while completing an internship at the Durham VA.
